I think for a kid this size he needs to use his WHOLE body. This kid is arming it all the way and it's pretty obvious. He needs to get more into his lower body and explode with his hips and carry through with the hands, not the other way around.
The problem is not early extension, (power v at impact-he doesn;t do this) but he gets absolutely nothing from his lower body. A man in a wheelchair could produce the same swing. This is what happens when you do the silly early stride, sit and lose all momentum, and then just throw your hands with your weight at 50-50. Lifetime singles hitter he will be, or at least until he graduates high school. No future with this swing.
pretty weak load, and his weight shift is not very good he is too 50-50

ReplyDeleteHe could get a lot more out of his hips if he would load/transfer weight. He goes from 50-50 directly into his swing.
