Lightning in this bat

This is "rotational hitting" operating at a high level. This kid was a sophomore in high school at Mississippi State's camp 3 years ago. The follow through is the telltale sign of rotational hitting. This kid gets it. You would do well to try to copy what you can.

Brian Wilson Explains "Got Heeeem" - The Franchise: A Season With the Sa...

I think this phrase should be worked into our everyday lingo. I am with Brian on this one, so much versatility with this one...and so freakin awesome.

Teams for tomorrow's intersquad

The first 3 players listed for each team will pitch 6 outs for each team. We will start with a 1-1 count and play 6 outs before rotating. Parrish will catch when teams 1 and 2 hit and Sam or Ben will catch when Team 3 hits.

Order of pitchers as follows:

Sippel versus Team 1
Rooker versus Team 2
Lowe versus Team 3
Sam versus Team 1
Snipes versus Team 2
Long versus Team 3
Cassady versus Team 1
Tremmel versus Team 2
P Parrish versus Team 3

The competition for pitchers is to see who can have the most batters on or out in 2 or less pitches in this intersquad. (Since you are starting with a 1-1 count)

Team 1 (hitting first)  Lowe, Long, P Parrish, Davidson

Team 2 (hitting second) Sippel, Sam, Cassady, Qualls, Peeler

Team 3 (hitting third) Rooker, Snipes, Tremmel, Cole, M Parrish

We will stretch and throw from 3:05-3:20

Game starts at 3:25 and ends at 5:35.

20 days till Jacksonville Episcopal!!! Make each one count!!!

Jonathan Andrews hitting 12-21-11

The main things I worked on with Jonathan was
1. experimenting with a leg kick for more momentum into rotation
2. bat path becoming slightly up instead of slightly down
3. keeping torso back after from heel plant (same angle as firmed front leg)

Swing improvement (Example 3) Phillip Qualls

Nathan Summer of 2010 (this is Nathan's maximal load position (coil) at that time)

Nathan February 2011 - a much more noticeable load which will give him more kinetic energy to help his hips pop more violently. Quite similar to Carlos Gonzalez's pictured below!

Swing improvement (Example 2) Patrick Snipes

Snipes Summer of 2010 -notice where the hands are here-already way out-separating from the back shoulder and in the dreaded "seatbelt swingpath" firing position.

Snipes Feb. 2011, the hands are tied more to the back shoulder (actually just behind it) and slightly lower for a flatter approach. This is a much more powerful and consistent firing position. Well done Sniper!!!!!!

Swing improvement (Example 1) Josh Ingram

Josh's Finish Summer 2010

Josh's Finish (Feb. 2011)

A lot more like this finish! Example 1 that through hard work, swing changes can be made within a year. Remember, your finish indicates what kind of swing you have.

I am thinking about a big sound system for the indoor and doing a big permanent turf halo around the foul part of the home plate circle with cardinal and vegas gold EAGLES painted all the way around it. Like most college teams have. I think that would look awesome along with the track and padded poles in front of the dugout.
